Do you ever hear a song on the radio or else where that just instantly reminds you of a book you’ve read?
I’ve had a few songs in the past that did remind me of a few books.
But yesterday, and you may think I’m a weirdo for doing this, I bought My World 2.0 by Justin Bieber. Yup. Sure did. I don’t care what people think but that boy is talented. Some of his songs aren’t awesome but one nearly brought me to tears while listening to it.
This song, Stuck in the Moment, instantly made me think of Matched by Ally Condie, which I finished last week.
Matched by Ally Condie
Dutton Juvenile, (2010-11-30)
$17.99 (Amazon.com, binding)
This song, while not perfect, fits this book so well because of the references to different lovers such as Adam & Eve, Sonny & Cher, and Romeo & Juliet. If you’ve read Matched you’ll remember that things from the past weren’t all saved but some things were secretly saved. It makes me wonder if these people would have been things secretly saved.
And the most perfect line of this song?
Bonnie & Clyde never had to hide like we do, we do.
I recently read Delirium by Lauren Oliver, which is a tiny bit like Matched, not really, but I think this song also reminded me of that book. But more so for Matched.
So, take a peek at the song, even if you’re not a Justin Bieber fan. I’d think this was a beautiful song even if it didn’t remind me of Matched but since it does it’s even more beautiful.

So tell me:
Are there songs that remind you of specific books?
Another song, Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s reminds me of Twilight, even though the lyrics, Delilah?, don’t match it still picked up the feelings I felt while reading Twilight, especially in New Moon when Edward leaves.
I’m very interested in seeing responses to this. If possible, please leave a link to a YouTube video of the song. 🙂
